UVHUnified Vehicle Hire

Pickup trucks, tippers and crew cabs — suited to groundwork contracts.

Groundwork contracts need the right vehicle from day one — not just a panel van. Crew transport to site, material handling, and access across rough ground all point toward pickup trucks, tipper trucks, or crew cab configurations. Hiring through a supplier who actually holds this fleet makes a practical difference.

  • Business-focused route into vehicle hire, not consumer rental
  • Connected to flexi, long-term, and contract hire options
  • Direct supplier introduction after enquiry review

Fleet requirements for groundwork and civil contracts

Groundwork contracts rarely have a single vehicle requirement. A crew needs transport to site; materials need to move; and site access often rules out standard panel vans. 4x4 pickups, tipper trucks, and crew cab configurations are common requirements. Not all hire suppliers hold this type of fleet, which is why the introduction matters.

Contract-based hire with flexibility

Civil contracting work is often won and mobilised quickly, with programme dates that shift. Rolling hire terms give flexibility when end dates are uncertain. Larger civil contractors with ongoing programmes may benefit from a longer-term supplier relationship where requirements can be planned ahead over multiple contracts.

Groundworkers & civil contractors hire questions

Some suppliers in our network hold pickups and tipper trucks as part of their fleet. Availability depends on location and current demand, but where this fleet is held, we will aim to match your enquiry accordingly. When you submit your request, specify the vehicle type and any site access requirements so we can assess what is available in your area.
Crew cab pickup trucks — which carry four to six people while still providing a load bed — are available through some suppliers. If your contract requires both crew transport and material carrying, specify this in your enquiry. We will look for a supplier who holds crew cab configurations rather than matching you to a standard panel van that does not meet the requirement.
This depends on the supplier's terms and the nature of the site. Standard panel vans are typically not suited to rough site conditions. 4x4 pickups often have more permissive terms for light off-road use, but you should confirm with the supplier what site access their vehicles are permitted for. We will flag this as a point to clarify when making the introduction.
